iPhone 4 GUI PSD (Retina Display) | Teehan+Lax
Thanks for you patience on this one. It took a good deal longer to complete given the sheer size and level of detail the retina display has. It wasn?t a simple scale-up from the last file. It was clear as we created it that Apple has spent a lot of time considering how each element should be translated to such a dense resolution. What were single pixel elements are now two or three pixels thick and effects are exaggerated to become visible. For anyone designing for the retina display (640×960) it really is quite a different experience. When you work at 100% everything seems absolutely huge but small details get lost when viewing it on the device. You really need to be mindful of how it looks on the phone since your monitor displays things so differently.
Breadcrumbs - Webmaster Tools Help
Note: This article describes an experimental format. Depending on feedback and on other available markup standards, it may be modified or replaced in the future. In addition, the rich snippets testing tool doesn't currently display previews of breadcrumb content. (But we're working on it.)

BonBon Buttons - Sweet CSS3 buttons
There was a goal: Create CSS buttons that are sexy looking, really flexible, but with the most minimalistic markup as possible.

And it looks great in every browser, but it looks like crap in Internet Explorer 6 with ClearType turned on. It is especially pronounced when using @font-face embedding with fonts that assume that some sort of anti-aliasing technology is being used.

Accessible ARIA Tabs | Research | Accessible Culture
For what it?s worth, what follows is an examination of some typical implementations of ARIA-enabled tabbed interfaces, and some of the issues raised by the way screen readers work with them. Of particular concern are tabbed interfaces to regular text content as opposed to application or form controls.
Terrill Thompson: Creating Your Own Accessible HTML5 Media Player
HTML5 introduces the <audio> and <video> elements, which enable web browsers to natively support media without requiring users to download and install a plug-in. It also greatly simplifies the code required to add media to a web page. For example, here's all you need to add Man With Small F (The Inaccessible PDF Song) to your HTML5 website (feel free - I don't mind):
The Tink Tank » Screen reader support for HTML tables
Screen reader support for tables is something of a curiosity. Although tables are among the most common of HTML elements, they?re often misused and poorly coded. To some extent this has influenced screen reader support, but even so the variations in screen reader behaviour are quite remarkable.
Possibly the biggest misuse of tables is using them to control page layout. Originally intended to markup tabular data, the concept of a layout table is now generally acknowledged. The Great Big Spreadsheet of All Known Android Devices Everywhere
ow many Droids are there? How much RAM is in the Nexus One? Does the Samsung Galaxy S support Wi-Fi N? Does the Droid X have a bigger screen than the Droid 2? Can you get Android in a TV? In a car?

I've been playing with PhoneGap a lot recently, in part to prepare Marbles2, but also to bring JS Console to the iPhone as a native app. I've always wanted to create an app that worked on all devices, but getting the launch image correct for each device can be tricky.
Developing an Accessible Star Ratings Widget » Yahoo! User Interface Blog (YUIBlog)
You might think that most rating systems would be based on some markup proven to be semantic and "operational" across many User Agents ? that is, that rating systems would be based on a specific set of HTML elements and attributes to which one applies behavior and style via JS and CSS. That would make sense, but it is far from the truth. When it comes to markup, authors try just about everything:
CSS Counters: counter-increment and Friends
The CSS2.1 spec introduced a new technique allowing developers to combine three CSS properties and a pseudo-element to create auto-incrementing counters ? similar to what is displayed in an ordered list.
